Dauphin County Bar Association
People's Law School
The People's Law School is an 8-week program sponsored by the Dauphin County Bar Association Young Lawyers' Section. The program is designed to give non-lawyers a basic understanding of the laws affecting an individual's everyday rights. Topics include: The Court System, Consumer Law, Vehicle Law, Family Law, Public Utility Law, Criminal Law, Employment Law and the District Justice System. Each session is led by a lawyer or a judge, presented in easy-to-understand terms, and followed by a question and answer period. The classes are conducted at Harrisburg Community College, and are scheduled in the Fall and Spring Semesters. Check the current HACC Course Curriculum Brochure for the next session. The program is open to the public and there is a nominal registration fee.
