Description
Have you ever left a criminal court proceeding in Dauphin County and said, "I can't understand why we do it this way"; or "I wish there was uniformity in criminal procedures throughout the county"; or "I think we should do it this way"? The criminal law committee of the Dauphin County Bar Association invites prosecutors, public defenders, private practitioners and Judges to participate in our quarterly lunchtime zoom meetings to discuss how to improve our criminal justice system. At our first meeting held on December 3rd, topics ranged from the possibility of the District Attorney assuming the responsibility (and cost) of expungement upon successful completion of ARD; uniform MDJ video practices; uniform continuance practices; and many more.
